Hello, everyone. I’m Sonny and my topic today is Du Fu, a great Chinese realistic poet. Before I introduce the great poet, I want to show you something interesting occurred in 2012, which is called “Du Fu is busy”。 In the pictures, sometimes Du Fu is sitting. Sometimes he is playing basketball!。 Sometimes he is photoing some scenes. And sometimes he is photoing himself.It seems that he likes playing the guitar and dancing too. As you can see, Du Fu is really “busy”。 Although these pictures are parodies made by net friends, they do reflect how popular Du Fu is in China. Now let me give you a profile of Du Fu. Du Fu was born in a rich family in Gongyi City, Henan Province in 712 in Tang Dynasty. Due to his superior family environment, Du Fu lived a happy teenage life. He started to roam at the age of 19 and till 734 he had been to Shandong and Wuyue areas, during witch he met Li Bai, another great poet in Tang Dynasty, and made friends with him. But when he was 23, he failed the important civil service examinations and didn’t make it to be a high-ranking official. And during the An-Shi Rebellion, which broke out in 755 and ended in 763, Du Fu suffered from chaos and homeless caused by war. After that, Du Fu led a wandering life and finally died on a boat from Tanzhou to Yueyang in 770. Because of his intricate life, Du Fu had a

Du fu wrote more than 1400 poems in his life which can be divided into two styles——romantic and realistic. Let’s begin with the romantic style. Du Fu’s early poetry mainly celebrated the natural world and bemoaned the pass of time. He was a born poet for he starting to write poems at the age of 7 and his romantic poems brought him fame and honor since he was young. His representative work in this period is Gazing on Mount Tai and To Li Bai.

However, his poems turned into realistic style after he suffered the period of An-Shi rebellion. He began to express profound compassion for humanity and exposed the dark aspect of society. The poems written in this period were mature and had remarkable depth, such as Xin'an Officials, Shihao Officials and Tongguan Officials, which are also called The Three Officials.

二、 The developing history of Chinese knot The cultural meaning of Chinese knot  Appeared in ancient time  developed in Tang and Song Dynasty (960-1229A.D.)and  popularized in Ming and Qing Dynasty (1368-1911A.D. Chinese Knot has so long a history ,dating back to ancient time, When our ancestors first invented rope and tied to record events and fix things.

when times come to ming and qing dynasty,the Chinese knot are coming into its peak 。 So many Chinese knots of different styles and colors have permeated into people’s lives at almost all aspacts , appearing on the curtain, closet, necklace as well on the wall and doors of shops。In that period, it was also combined with other fortunate stuff to delived blessings for people. chinese knot,had really become a part of Chinese people’s lives and a special stand for Chinese culture.

Chinese Knot has so rich and profound meanings.

1、 Firstly, knot”is associated with many words like Combinition, unity, ,marriage, close relationship…… which show us the feeling of warm and intimacy 。at the same time ,it presents the strength that unite every one.

2、 Secondly,The pronunciation “jie” is the partial tone of Chinese characters “ji”, which involves various nice and beautiful blessings to people.such as happiness ,wealth ,joy, Longevity and so on. There are many Chinese knots named accordance with their unique characteristic forms,相应地,delivering the warmest regards, best wishes or finest ideal. For example,

At the time when he was about to catch up with his wife, the Queen Mother took off one of her gold hairpins and made a stroke. One billowy river appeared in front of the Cowhand. The Cowhand and Weaver Maid were separated on the two banks forever and could only feel their tears. Their loyalty to love touched magpies, so tens of thousands of magpies came to build a bridge for the Cowhand and Weaver Maid to meet each other. The Queen Mother was eventually moved and allowed them to meet each year on the 7th of the 7th lunar month. Hence their meeting date has been called “Qi Xi” (Double Seventh)。

Its leaves look like fans. It is recognized as living fossil and the god of longevity. Can you guess what it is? Here , the ginkgo! So I will give you a brief introduction about how to eat ginkgoes. The full view to look at ginkgo, the leaves, the nuts. The features of ginkgoes in four seasons. Here comes the ginkgo nuts whose cover are white, they taste a little bitter but rich in advanced nutritional tonic. They contain crude protein, crude fat , reducing sugar, nucleoprotein, minerals, crude fiber, and vitamins, etc. Eating ginkgo can anti-aging, expand capillaries and promote blood circulation.nutrition.
